Summary of October 30 Board Meeting

 

  • The Board reviewed the numerous events over the past month including two Israel Committee events and the well-attended and moving memorial service for Rabbi Aimee.
  • Debby Singer reported that that the Religious school is functioning well with an enrollment of 140 students.
  • It was noted that security for PJTC has been stepped up.  The newly-formed Security Committee has been collecting information for physical security upgrades and procedures.  The committee is working closely with LBSRS and B’nai Simcha.
  • Treasurer Clark Linstone reported on progress in sorting out numerous “restricted” (special purpose/designated) funds as to their purpose and remaining funds.  The total amount of the funds is about $110,000 that will be placed into a separate account with disbursement and accounting procedures for the various funds.
  • A change to the Bylaws was adopted to include reference to a Conflict of Interest policy that has been developed.  Board members and employees with financial or policy responsibilities will be required to sign annually.  Such a policy is a requirement for non-profit organizations.  An additional change to the Bylaws was adopted to increase the Executive Director’s check signing limit was also approved.
  • The President will be appointing a search committee for a new Education Director.  Those interested in participating should contact Jack Singer.
