The Board meeting regularly scheduled for April 24 was postponed to Tuesday, May 2, so that the Board could review the contract with Rabbi Ben Goldstein to be PJTC’s Interim Rabbi beginning July 1. The contract was approved. Rabbi Goldstein will begin working with upcoming b’nai mitzvahs and with the Cantor and Melissa on High Holy Day preparations beginning immediately on an hourly basis.
Other items were:
Todd Levine reviewed the progress of construction projects: Wohlmann roof is complete. Much improved security cameras have been installed. Perimeter fencing has been improved. Fire alarm plans for the B’nai Simcha and classroom area have been approved and installation will begin soon. Replacing floor covering in upstairs classrooms is moving forward.
Jeff Landau reviewed the Ohr Tamid Society – planned giving from congregants estates.
The status of special funds for scholarships and similar purposes is being reviewed.
Aviva Zieler was appointed Religious School Committee Chair.
In a closed session, the Board completed material from the Board retreat and discussed HR matters.
