Hello PJTC,
A lot is going on with your Men’s Club. First, our (now former) president, Jack Singer, is now the PJTC Board President, so per our bylaws, as immediate past President, I resume the mantle for the balance of his term. Jack spearheaded our gifting more money this year than in any previous year in partnership with Sisterhood and the PJTC matching campaign benefiting our various youth educational and social programs. Overall he has led us through a very successful 9 months. The greater congregation is fortunate to have him leading the way for the next two years. Yasher Koach, Jack.
Our annual Man of the Year and Semi-annual Service to community honorees dinner banquet was held on April 30 at PJTC. This year, again led by Jack and VP of Programs, Stu Miller, Men’s Club returned to the tradition of preparing and serving up a scrumptious brisket dinner with all the trimmings prepared in-house by a group of gourmet Men’s Club chefs. Hy Vego, of blessed memory, for who. The Man of the Year award was named after, started this tradition dozens of years ago and as a homage to tradition, it was brought back this year. Delicious food, musical entertainment and presentations of recognition awards from local and state dignitaries were the icing on the cake (we had cake too!) to an evening dedicated to honoring our Man of the Year, Men’s Club Board treasurer (former PJTC president and son of a former PJTC president!), Dr. Jonathon Weisz, and two deserving recipients of our service to Community Award, Nancy and John Carlton. The MC selection committee hit it out of the ballpark with these distinguished honorees.
Finally mark your calendars for our annual meeting on June 25 at PJTC. This event is free for all members. The membership will be advised of the upcoming years proposed budget and will vote on the proposed slate of officers. The proposed slate is as follows:
