This past month has been a relatively quiet one for the Men’s Club but it could turn out to be one of our most productive in terms of our support for PJTC.
The only event we sponsored during December was our first presentation by three former Louis B. Silver Religious School alumni who came back to provide a panel discussion for the current upper grade LBSRS students. The panel consisted of Derrick Doneen, Joshua Tornek and Jenny Owen, who we want to congratulate for their great presentations and give them our deepest gratitude for their participation. All three alums addressed the students on how their attending LBSRS influenced their lives and helped influence their career paths. We couldn’t have picked a better group for this first panel and based on feedback from those who attended, we are strongly considering making this an annual Men’s Club event.
For the rest of the month we devoted all our focus on the promotion of our co-sponsored, with Sisterhood, fund raising event, the Sisterhood and Men’s Club “PJTC Youth Matching Campaign”. Our goal was to challenge all PJTC congregants to match the Sisterhood and Men’s Club donation of $20,000 earmarked for the support of LBSRS and the USY/Kadima youth program. As I write this, we are approximately two thirds of the way into December and we have received about a 50% match. Stay tuned for the final results.
Our newest Football Pool winners are: Kevin Bourland, Bob Aronoff, Jon Weisz and Jim Schaefer.
