Women’s League Membership – A Sisterhood Benefit

A wonderful benefit of joining Sisterhood is that you also become part of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ). Women’s League is an active arm of the Conservative Masorti (masorti.org.uk/articles/what-is-masorti-judaism) movement and the largest synagogue-based women’s organization worldwide.

Of the dues paid by each Sisterhood member, $ 15.00 of that supports our umbrella organization, Women’s League. Women’s League provides a wide array of services, materials and educational programs to its members, furthering opportunities for your engagement in all things Jewish. Benefits include study days, health and wellness programs, and Hebrew classes, as well as a variety of workshops and resources.

Here is additional information about your Women’s League benefits:

Weekly Email Blast

The weekly email blast typically includes a Shabbat message, publicity for upcoming workshops and programs as well as other Jewish organization programs available to Women’s League members.

Women’s League Reads

Women’s League Reads, a worldwide conversation about books of interest to today’s Jewish women is a moderated online discussion group, via Google Groups, in which everyone is invited to post comments, ask questions and make observations about the book. You may subscribe by contacting Lois Silverman, Internet Services Chair, at lsilverman@wlcj.org, with your e-mail address, sisterhood name/town/state.

Be Creative

Members of Women’s League have been designing beautiful craft projects that fulfill the mitzvah of hiddur mitzvah (enhancing the observance of mitzvot) for many years. The Hiddur Mitzvah Project is a compilation of fresh approaches to enhancing the observance of the mitzvot, organized around the Jewish calendar.

Take Care of Yourself

The Modern Jewish Family explores the diverse character of Jewish families and encourages our communities to be welcoming, inclusive and open-hearted. The Wellness and Learning initiative was born from understanding the need to bring together one’s physical, emotional and spiritual selves. This program encourages women to strive for personal wellness and growth in their Judaism through individual study and group support.

Add Your Voice

Women’s League has a long tradition of involvement in current issues of the day, encouraging women to merge their Jewish values, practices and lifestyle with the larger world. Members advocate, organize and educate about Israel, about world affairs impacting both Jew and non-Jew alike, and about government policies that affect us locally and worldwide.

NEW! “Study With Scholars” offers members the exclusive chance to learn from prominent educators in the Jewish community.
