Since our last report the Men’s Club has been very active.
We held a Bagel Breakfast for our MC members on October 23rd, which featured Larry Stewart, who is a nationally well known newspaper sports columnist. All who attended had an enlightening and educational presentation from Larry covering his many years of writing about national and local sports commentators and athletes.
On November 12th. The Men’s Club purchased, cooked and served the entrees and provided beverages for all those who attended the New Member Havdalah event welcoming our new members as well as our current members who came not only to meet one another but to also attend a presentation by Patrick Wright covering the Temple time capsule that will contain and preserve momentos and information about the history of PJTC for the future.
Our final event for November was our annual celebration of our Jewish armed forces veterans held on November 13th. We honored our veterans with a Marine Corp. honor guard who presented our flag while we listened to the US national anthem and the Israel national anthem. We then were provided with a very powerful and moving presentation by Glen Glasco, a local Arcadia resident who was instrumental in getting the Arcadia Vietnam Veterans War Memorial erected.
So far this month our Football Pool winners are Clark Linstone, Steven Roth (twice winner), Jan & Josh Pais, Fred Rotenberg and Jon Weisz. We have more Men’s Club events on the drawing board for December and beyond, so keep your eyes out for our upcoming announcements.
