Donations to Sisterhood Make it Possible to Completely Furnish Kitchen & Bathroom

We are in awe of our community’s generosity! In less than a two-week period, Sisterhood’s request for kitchen and bathroom items to furnish the apartment for the Afghan refugee family were met. Our expectations have been surpassed, and monetary donations over and above our need to purchase additional kitchen and bath items will be given to PJTC’s Welcome Circle core committee which is responsible for apartment rental, utilities, food and other expenses that the family will incur over the next 6 - 12 months.

The Z family of 4, with two little girls, arrived at LAX on February 5. They’ve been settling into their apartment in Pasadena, making full use of the well-equipped kitchen not only to feed the family but to offer hospitality to members of the PJTC Welcome Circle. Circle members are getting to know the Z family while helping them with basic needs, public benefits, legal aid and other supports and orienting them to their neighborhood.

It is because of donors like those listed below that we were able to easily and quickly furnish the kitchen and bathroom with all of the necessities. Together, we have created a warm welcoming home for our Afghan family. You know the saying “It Takes a Village...” Thank you for your donations and being a part of Sisterhood’s village!
