Charlie Brenner, Phil Callahan and Claire Gorfinkel are interested in starting a monthly PJTC hiking group (which could be more frequent if people are interested) on local trails. We are thinking of moderate, interesting hikes of about 5 miles lasting 2.5-3 hours on Sunday mornings starting at 8:30.  The first outing will be the Sam Merrill Trail to Echo Mountain (#24 in "Trails of the Angeles"), on Sunday, May 30.  We will meet at the trailhead at the top of Lake Ave, at 8:30am.
