How can I get quick access to the various URLs needed for services and other online programming?
We have resources and a tip for that question!
Resources Provided: One or more emails that contain links to all the URLs needed to view and participate in High Holy Days go out during the weeks prior to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to the email account used to register for the High Holy Days. If the registrant did not receive an email, first check the email spam folder. Should the email not be there either, email info@pjtc.net and we can make sure the email is forwarded to you. Please make sure you email the office the day before the service you'd like to attend digitally so we can ensure you receive a reply!
Our Hot Tip: When you receive the email with links to the URLs, take the time to click on all the links and bookmark them in your web browser. Every web browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.) has a "Bookmarks" menu tab at the top. Within that menu tab, you can "Add Bookmark Folder" to create a High Holy Days folder that only contains the bookmarked URLs you will need. You can then go to each URL/web page you will need to visit during the High Holy Days and, when on that page, go to the "Bookmarks" menu tab, select "Add Bookmark", select the High Holy Days bookmark folder you just created (from the drop-down menu that pops up), give the page an easily recognized name (or keep whatever auto-populates in that space, and click "Add" (or whatever save button name appears in your web browser). Then, voila! When it's go-time, click on the "Bookmarks" menu tab again, and you will find your High Holy Days folder and all the links within it down in the bookmark folders listing at the bottom of that menu (you can also find the folders when you click on "Show Bookmarks").
If I have a smart TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick, or Apple TV, can I Stream PJTC’s Services to my TV?
Yes! There are two ways to do so!
1. "Mirror" or "Cast" your phone, tablet or computer to your TV or streaming device to see the Zoom or livestream service on the big screen.
Instructions differ depending on your TV or streaming device brand.
If you are not already familiar with this technique, we suggest you research your particular equipment online or contact our High Holy Days Tech Support team BEFORE services (today would be good!). They can be reached at (626) 798-1161 or info@pjtc.net. Should our team be supporting others when you reach out, please leave a message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
2. Access the livestream services on YouTube or Facebook Live apps on your smart TV or streaming device.
Most smart TVs and streaming devices have the YouTube app and Facebook Watch app available to you. If it is not visible in your app selections, you may need to search for it and download it to your smart TV or streaming device.
If you do not already have a YouTube or Facebook account, sign up for an account using your phone, tablet or computer first. Then, use the same user name and password to log in to the corresponding app on your smart TV or streaming device.
To ensure our services are accessible on your smart TV or streaming device, you must subscribe/follow us on the device (phone, tablet or computer) you plan on using to view services.

What is the difference between the livestream options and the Zoom option for services?
It's mainly about watching vs joining.
The Livestream Options through StreamSpot, Facebook Live and YouTube Live (which all stream the same thing—it's just a matter of what platform you prefer to use) allow you to watch and listen to services.
The Zoom Option is available to PJTC members as a way to join in and be with our community (Zoom URL is shared via email to High Holy Day registrants). Within the Zoom experience, you can see other members who have also joined the Zoom, and they can see you (unless you turn off your video, which you are welcome to do). Our clergy can also see you—it warms their hearts to see your faces and it helps them to have real people to talk and sing to during services. Our administrator mutes attendees, so do not worry about being heard unless you are a planned participant/speaker during the service. That said, you can participate via the chat feature. At times, we may deactivate the ability to chat to the entire group (it can be distracting), but you can chat individually with other participants and "whisper during services." It's okay...we know that part of the fun of going to services is connecting with your people.
